Stress Echo


  • Echocardiography – This scan poses no known physical risk.
  • Exercise testing – There is a small risk of complications with exercise testing, just as there would be if you performed vigorous exercise outside the clinic. These include abnormalities of heart rhythm, heart attack or collapse. The risk of any of these occurring is <1 in 2000. You will be monitored for these complications throughout the exercise stress echocardiogram, and treated accordingly if any of them develop.
